MIT Students After Graduation zz from MIT.edu

During 2006–2007, 545 employers recruited in the MIT Careers Office. Financial services, consulting, investment banking, and computer companies accounted for approximately 43 percent, and engineering companies accounted for seven percent of recruiters. Thirty-one percent of 2007 undergraduates found jobs through on-campus recruiting; 33 percent found jobs through various networking venues, including career fairs, Careers Office contacts, and professional conferences. Internships also figured prominently in students' career preparation, with 75 percent of graduating seniors completing internships while at MIT.

The proportion of MIT undergraduates who went on to graduate school was 45 percent, while the proportion who took jobs was 44 percent. The top five graduate school destinations were MIT, Stanford, Harvard, the University of California at Berkeley, and the University of Michigan.
